Frequently Asked Questions

How to submit a HAL request?

The shared part of HAL is no longer open to partners by default.
A partner who needs HAL access for a customisation must request access for each customisation part separately, through Workflow Overview, and get approval from Karl.
This page explains who can ask, what to prepare, and how to fill in the request.

Who can request access
- Only certified HAL specialists.
- The request must name the actual person who will do the HAL work, not just the partner company, so we can check that this person has a HAL certificate.
- A request for a person without a valid accreditation is returned without review.

Before you submit
- The customisation has been agreed with the customer.
- You know which Standard ERP version the customer has.
- The person who will work with HAL is named and is HAL certified.
- You have written approval from Karl (screenshot), or for a verbal approval, the date and a clear statement of what he approved.
- You can describe what the customisation must achieve, and the file names if you already know them

How to submit
- In Workflow overview create a new issue and choose the issue type "HAL requests".
- Fill in the activity using the title and description format described below.
- One request covers one customisation.
- Attach the screenshot of Karl's written approval. For a verbal approval, write the date and what was approved.
- Submit
If the scope grows later, for example more files are needed for the same customisation, add a comment to the same HAL request with the new file names.
Do not start with the long list of potentially needed files until they are confirmed to be needed for the customisation.

Required information
- Version >> The Standard ERP version the customisation is for.
- Partner >> Partner name and the company that will do the work (should be automatically filled in activity based on the currentuser)
- Person >> Full name of the person who will work in HAL, so we can check the HAL accreditation.
- Goal >> What the customisation must achieve, in plain words (not a long project specification).
- Files >> HAL file name(s) needed, if you already know them. Write "not known" if not.
- Approval >> Karl's written approval attached as a screenshot. If verbal: the date and a clear statement of what he approved, so it can be double checked.

Example
- Title: HAL>>Against All Odds>>2026-09-24>>Custom field for Sales Invoice form
- Version: 2026-09-24
- Partner: Partner Name Ltd
- Person: John Doe
- Goal: Add a custom field to the sales invoice form and validate it on save, for customer "Against All Odds".
- Files: not known
- Approval: Karl, written, screenshot attached.
