GP per location

In a system with multiple locations, with each location buying stock at different cost prices, is there any way to show the location's cost when adding items to quotations/orders/invoices? This would give a better idea of the GP at that location. Are there any potential pitfalls in making it work like this?

Hi Paul,

I think it should work like that. It gives a more accurate GP calculation on those sales records.

Hey Paul,

if you have settings like this:
- stock-settings-cost model - tick FIFO Per Location and tick Weighted Average per Location
- sales orders-setting-order setting - update cost price on order when delivering
- stock-settings-cost accounting - cost price at invoicing - from sales order

then create a new sales order and paste item will paste cost price from item card and calculate GP according to cost price from item card at this stage

then create delivery and ok and save - this takes item out of stock according to FIFO or WA in that location, and updates order row cost price to that location FIFO or WA at the time of OK and save delivery as well

then create invoice from delivery or from order - it copies the cost price from order row (which is the FIFO or WA for that location that delivery took the item out of stock with) and paste on invoice row as well.

so
- GP invoices in this case is always calculated based on FIFO or WA in that location (need to invoice after each delivery though)
- GP orders is a bit mix and match, dependent on if you have delivered the order or not, or if you have part delivered several times and at different FIFO or WA cost at the time of delivery
- GP quotations is always cost price from item card though...
