Hi there,

Server – tried both Windows Server 2022 and Linux
Version - 2025-08-11 and 2026-05-25

We were testing a new version (2025-08-11) with a Halcust that we had migrated from the existing version. We had it installed on our Windows Play Server. We noticed that some routines that would normally take seconds were taking several minutes to run, they were:

1.    Deleting Halrules
2.    Payment Suggestion
3.    Copying Revised Budgets from Budgets

We then put the new version on a new linux server and found the same. We spotted that the CPU usage was about 97% a lot of the time and that it repeatedly spiked to 97% every 5-6 minutes. And sometimes kept at 97% all the time depending on what data we looked at.
We then tried the same on version 2026-05-25 without our Halcust in place and it did the same. We tried different data sets too, some were worse than others, some had no issues. My Demo system was fine and we hadn’t noticed anything with another customer's testing of this version.
To cut a long story, the data we were using had 132 KPI’s across 5 companies – there were only 4 different KPIs for each of the different users in the different companies but 2 of the 4 KPI’s were P/L Due and S/L Due – so the system was running the P/L due 33 times every so often and the same for S/L Due. Changing the Recalculation time on the KPI from 2 mins to 2 hours didn’t seem to have any effect.
Deleting the KPI’s and then restarting the service bought the CPU usage down to normal levels and the routines ran normally in seconds.
Older versions did not have this high CPU usage for KPI’s – what has changed with KPI’s in the recent versions and can it be fixed please so they don't take an unreasonable amount of CPU reseources?

Thanks

Best wishes

Dave
