Cloud Controller Update Issue

Hello,

There was a Cloud Controller update that happened on my clients database and below is the sequence of events:

- Users were unable to Log in on 15/09/2018
- The system admin logged in to MyStandard and found an error "Your Cloud Node is stuck on an updating state"
- They then downloaded the 64 bit Visual Basic Redistributable Package
- They had to install Windows Server 2008 SP1 Update which then allowed to install the VB Package
- After that the CN started

- Come Monday the Users logged in and found that records on the system were for 07/08/2018
We then imported backup for 14/09/2018 which only had records upto 13/09/2018 and now users have to repost all transactions from 14,15,16

Does anyone know why this happened and how to avoid it in future.

Hello,

Cloud controller doesn't affect any data, it has it's own hdb, and server. and this is more than strange.
What is the customer name, so we could look at the logs, as we suspect someone might have reset from backup.

Also we do not support 8.2 so customer should update to 8.4 or wait the new soon coming 8.5 version of Standard erp.

This is first time hearing such case. As CN only job is to control serp server, keep it always running, initiate actions, done from mystandard.

From the log we see 2018-09-15 SERP was fully working:
2018-09-15 09:16:04 AZHAR Printing Quotations 2018080053
2018-09-15 14:21:14 GILBERT Login @192.168.5.204


and you had a database copy
2018-09-15 23:00:01 Database Copy Starting
2018-09-15 23:15:54 Close database
So you could just reset from it. On 16th, no data was added.

Thank you for your prompt response

The Database Copy option would have worked but unfortunately the client started posting Live Data for 16th. We will continue to monitor the CN and advice.
