Are there some Android versions that 8.4 2018-07-06 version is not compatible with?

One of our customers cannot install HW application. Getting message that Android version 9 is too new.

Hello and thank you for reaching out.
due to the very recent introduction of Android 9 "Pie" none of our software is officially supported by this Os.
We are working to make it runnable on all the newest devices, but for now we still officially support Android 8 "Oreo"
