wrong and too long VAT codes

We have one customer who has too long VAT codes like PVM5PVM5PVM100, while the field length is 10.

We did VAT codes conversion, but after that the client noticed that there are wrong VAT codes even in the settings>>VAT Codes. How can that happen? AFAIK, codes in the settings are not converted during conversion.

I figured out that extra code is added each time we do an export import.
E.g., we had PVM5PVM5PVM100 in the VAT codes, after an export-import we have PVM5PVM5PVM5PVM100.

Is this a version specific?

Please test in 8.4 2017-11-25 version, as 8.3 version might have the bug.
