Cash Up report not supping shifts with a single day

Point of Sales >> Reports >> Cash Up report

Client closes session two time in same day and Cash up report is blending cash outs of first session and summarizing showing sales over the entire day.

Cash up report seems to be unable to report a full summary by shift (Session) within the same day.

It has the same issue if printed for a month at a time.

Is there a setting to tell the system that each session should be reported with it's summary printed after the Session close and starting a "new" report for each session in the reporting period.

I have a sample report to attach but not seeing a way to upload to this question.

Thanks for all feedback in advance.

Customer Environment is set up where each Till/Drawer is the till.

Cashiers can use any till to help a customer so the owner does not care who punches in the sale.

They run the entire shift and then close all tills and start the next shift.

Cashiers do count tills - manager balance drawers to Shifts as all monies are removed from the drawers when a shift closes.

The client has also stated that when they get into the busy season they made not close a shift to sometime days. up to as much as 3 to 4 days.

Not sure if this will cause SERP POS module issues if a shift is started on Monday and not closed till Thursday around 15:00 hrs and a new shift is started.

Any feedback or hints on best practice in this environment is greatly appreciated.

"Client closes session two time in same day and Cash up report is blending cash outs of first session and summarizing showing sales over the entire day."

- This report does summarise sales, as in - sales of the items are listed together

- Cash out events should be separated by session

- There is currently no option to change this

- This should be ok

Hi Omar, thanks for the response however the biggest issue is that the report is calculating the sales for the day but negates the sales on the first shift as it totals the cash in and cash outs on the first shift which equates to Zero give a total sales on the report an incorrect value.

Are you saying the POS system must not be sold to environments that have more than one shift in a day?

Hi Wayne, a wish has been created to show sales per session (per shift) on the Cash up report. I will update you on progress of its development.
