Importing into 8.4 is much slower than previous versions

On Windows, importing data into 8.4 takes much longer than in previous versions. Even UK sample data takes over a minute when it should only take a few seconds. I have not tried other operating systems yet. Version is 8.4 2017-10-12 build 84190503.
