Telephony>>VoIP service providers

When provisioning Asterisk from Standard ERP, I'm just trying to understand how third parties fit into this.

1. What do Vonage provide, and do they have to be used?
2. Does the end user have a choice of which VoIP provider to connect with, for SIP trunks, number porting, and call charges?

Thanks

I guess most of telecoms can provide SIP trunk, but the details may be hidden somewhere in the website, as is with Telia.

Customers are free to choose any SIP Provider.

If Vonage is cheap enough in their country and they want an automatic setup of the SIP Trunk, Vonage is better choice.
