After upgrading to v. 8.5 2022-12-30 our client says invoice PDF is generated (via Invoice>>create>>email) as if Row layout=By item group would be selected if printed manually via Documents>>Invoices. This is not expected. Some time later the same invoice is being printed normally.
I cannot find any setting to make printing of the invoices sorted by item groups.
Why this happens?

We had this problem, it's not new, just happened now. Last time we saw it, it happened to a customer after working with Hansa for more than 5 years :) Looks like extremely random.
We think it's a variable or flag that remains set to a value when running a report or something same time with printing.
However, we were never able to reproduce it, as hard as we tried, just removed the ByItemGroup printing with HAL.

For me it looks like a memory corruption bug or smth., I remember years ago on one line value of variable is one a few lines down is completely another, even though nothing modified the value.

I have found some HAL syntax errors which SERP does not complain about (missing semicolons), fixed those, but it didn't help.

I could not repeat it in my DB, our client's log has some cases where Periodic customer statement report (probably with "Show Official Ser Nr." checked which is RcVc.flags[15] - the same as an option to print grouped invoice rows) is being run before printing the invoice which fails to print in normal way:
